Stainless Steel 316 Flush-Mount Rod Holders (Set of 2) — 15°
Product description
Set of two flush-mount rod holders finished in polished Stainless Steel 316 and oriented at a 15° angle for an optimal rod tilt.
Each unit features a closed-bottom design that surrounds a cast stainless steel drain tail. That drain tail offers a guided exit for water, helping to keep the boat interior drier when rods are left mounted.
These holders are produced with robust cast frames to improve corrosion resistance and overall durability. They are offered in multiple flange angles — commonly 15°, 30° and 90° — so you can choose the mounting angle that best suits your gunnel and fishing style. Intended for standard rod and reel setups, they are installed flush into the deck or gunwale and fastened with stainless hardware.
Pros
- 316 stainless construction resists corrosion
- Closed-bottom with drain tail for guided drainage
- Solid cast frame for long-term durability
Cons
- Not designed for extreme heavy electric reels
- Locking pin is a hollow roll pin on stock units
- Mounting screws not included

Very good quality and sturdy
I fitted a pair of 15° holders in my Legend X20, replacing two unused cupholders. I made 3/4" plywood plugs roughly 4+" diameter with 2 1/8" holes, bedding them with a fast-acting marine adhesive. I plumbed the drain holes to the bilge — removing side panels took time, but the installation worked great. These things are stout — exaggerating, they’d hold a 20-foot flag pole!

Solid quality; installs cleanly
Installed two 15° holders. Cut a 2 1/8" hole, then used a Dremel to remove an extra 1/8" at about 1/4" depth to clear the weld. They sit flush and leave room for fasteners. #12 stainless sheet metal screws are a good choice.

Practical for rigging station
I used these to outfit two workstations in my basement for building offshore rods. They work perfectly for bent-butt rods and I have 30° versions for straight-butts. They haven’t seen saltwater, so I can’t speak to long-term marine exposure, but they feel well made.

Great construction and value
Welds and finish are top-notch; I expect long service on my boat. No stainless screws included, which is fine — I’ll use SS Allen screws for extra security. Would recommend based on quality and feel.

Bought 20 for full-boat setup
I installed about 20 of these around the gunnels for live-bait fishing in South Florida and they’ve held up well. The metal finish matches other well-known brands; don’t expect them to replace ultra-heavy 80–130 lb class holders for big game electric reels. The only weak point is the bottom locking pin is just a hollow roll pin rather than a welded solid pin — easy to upgrade with a 1/4-20 bolt if needed. After eight months and frequent saltwater use there’s no rust. Overall a very good deal.
