33g CO2 Rearming Cylinder for Auto/Manual Inflatable Life Jackets
Product description
This 33 gram CO2 rearming cylinder is supplied as the replacement gas cartridge used to refill manual and auto/manual inflatable personal flotation devices rated around 150N. The threaded metal cylinder contains a CO2 charge sized to actuate a single inflation cycle; it is designed to be screwed into the inflator head by hand without tools.
The cartridge is precision-threaded to match standard inflator fittings and aims to form a tight, leak-resistant connection with the firing mechanism. It serves as the power source that converts an uninflated jacket into a buoyant 150N PFD when the activation element is triggered, whether by a manual pull or automatic water immersion.
For context, the companion inflatable life jacket model is a lightweight adult PFD weighing approximately 0.7 kg (about 1.55 lbs) and rated at 150N buoyancy. Its construction combines high-strength nylon shell fabric with TPU internal bladders. The jacket inflates in roughly 3–5 seconds when activated and is tested for 48-hour pressure retention. Safety features include high-visibility reflective strips and an included whistle to aid visibility and signaling.
Standard package contents for the complete PFD offering include one inflatable life jacket with a CO2 cartridge pre-installed, one replacement oral inflation tube for manual top-ups, one safety whistle, and a PVC storage bag. The 33 g CO2 cylinder sold separately is intended to replace the spent cartridge so the PFD can be returned to service quickly. Note that some inflator systems also require a colored activation bobbin or firing element; the cartridge itself supplies the gas charge only.
Pros
- Quick, tool-free screw-in installation
- Accurate threading for a secure, leak-resistant seal
- Compatible with most 150N auto/manual inflator heads
Cons
- Does not include the activation bobbin required by some inflators
- Not intended as a substitute for higher-buoyancy/offshore systems
- Can be noticeable in slim-profile jackets
VerdictThis 33 g CO2 rearming cylinder is an easy-to-install, accurate replacement for most 150N auto/manual inflators — ideal for routine maintenance and near-shore use. It screws in by hand, creates a reliable seal, and restores an inflatable PFD quickly. Keep in mind it does not include the activation bobbin used by some inflators and is not a substitute for higher-buoyancy or redundant offshore syste

Finally a replacement that actually fits
I bought this to recharge an unbranded inflatable vest that matched a Hwayan-style jacket I had. Other kits I tried were the wrong fit; this cylinder and trigger aligned perfectly and threaded in easily. Installation was straightforward and now I can use a lightweight inflatable instead of a bulky foam vest when kayaking.

Missing the activation bobbin
Package includes the 33 g CO2 cylinder only; it does not come with the yellow or green bobbin some jackets require. After a wet deployment you usually need to replace that firing element too. The cartridge itself screwed in easily and felt solid but is noticeable inside the jacket. Expect to buy a separate bobbin for a full rearm.

Solid replacement cartridge
Fits my inflatable jacket as expected. Threads are clean and the cartridge feels robust. Handy to keep extras if you use inflatable PFDs often.

Worked perfectly with my Bass Pro inflators
Fitted these to Bass Pro inflatable vests without issue. Having a spare rearming cylinder on hand gives peace of mind, and the green clip and cartridge were simple to install. Quick maintenance for PFDs.

Fits my backup vest — check compatibility first
This matched the cartridge size for my self-inflating backup vest and did the job. Make sure the thread and bobbin type match your inflator before ordering.

Good match for Eyson inflators
I maintain several Eyson inflatable jackets that use 33 g cartridges and these fit correctly. The manufacturing markings were present on the cartridge, which was reassuring. Overall a reliable replacement option when local shops don’t carry them.

Handy drop-in spare for emergency floats
This cartridge provides the CO2 charge only and installs directly into the inflator. It didn’t include a replacement activator button or bobbin, so be sure you have the correct firing element. Installation was straightforward and it inflated my emergency float as expected.

Dependable for routine PFD upkeep, not for offshore duty
This 33 g cartridge does exactly what it should: clean threads, smooth screw-in and a solid seal. It’s a straightforward way to keep a 150N auto/manual PFD ready for lakes and near‑shore trips. For offshore or rough-water operations, you’ll want higher lift or systems with redundancy — this is aimed at everyday recreational use.
