120pc 6-inch Circle-Top Landscape Staples — 8-Gauge Garden Pins
Product description
Package contents: 120 circle-top landscape staples in the 6-inch length (also offered in 12-inch for deeper anchoring). Each pin is formed with a broad circular head and two long legs to penetrate and secure material.
Construction: Made from heavy-duty 8-gauge steel, these pins are roughly 30% thicker than common 11-gauge alternatives. The steel is coated with a zinc-galvanized finish to protect against rust and corrosion so the pins can remain buried in damp soil for long periods.
Design and performance: The round top spreads hammer impacts over a larger surface area, making them simpler to drive and less likely to bend under normal use. The wider head also helps prevent pull-through on fabric and turf, providing up to five times the grip of conventional U-shaped staples.
Uses: Ideal for fastening weed barrier and landscape fabric, holding down plastic mulch, securing artificial turf, and anchoring inflatables or seasonal yard decorations. The 6-inch length suits most typical garden soils; choose the 12-inch option when working in sandy or very loose ground for a deeper, more reliable hold.
How to use: Position the pin over the material and strike the circular head with a hammer or mallet, or press in with a boot for softer soil. For best results avoid striking roots or large rocks that can deform the steel.
Pros
- Thicker 8-gauge steel for greater strength
- Galvanized finish resists rust
- Circle-top is easy to hit and reduces pull-through
Cons
- Heavier than thinner staples
- 6-inch length may be shallow in very loose soil
- Can bend if striking large roots or rocks
VerdictA rugged choice for anchoring ground covers and outdoor accents. The thicker 8-gauge steel and galvanized finish deliver durable holding power and corrosion resistance, while the circle-top design makes them easier to seat with a hammer or boot.

Won’t go back to regular staples
Wish I’d found these sooner. If your ground gets even a bit firm, these make securing fabric effortless and reliable.

Quick and precise
Holds outdoor fabric accurately and lets you finish jobs fast—one hammer tap secures the pin.

Great for heavy weed-block fabric
Solid pins with a bright galvanized finish. The wide top prevents pull-through and they take a boot or rubber mallet without bending. Hit a root or rock and they'll kink, but for laying lots of fabric they’re exactly what I needed.

Very sturdy
They hold firmly and outperform standard U-shaped landscaping staples in my experience.

Far better than traditional staples
These are tough and don’t break like the old staples. One peg is easier to push in than two prongs. Also useful for staking a hunting blind and holding landscape fabric.

Easy to drive and strong
I usually used U-type pins, but these drive into hard soil more easily and resist bending. The larger circular head is much easier to hit and saves my fingers—I may switch to these permanently.

Does what it says
Sturdy steel pins. I’ve only used a few so far but they went into the soil easily by hand or with a mallet.

Perfect for my garden
Traditional staples were hard to set and didn’t always stay. These are stout and simple to install; the curved top holds everything nicely in place.
