PEI Spring Steel Build Plate — 260x271mm for Centauri Carbon/CC Series
Product description
Compatibility and sizing: This single unit is a 260 x 271 mm double-sided build surface intended to fit Elegoo Centauri Carbon, Centauri Carbon 2 (CC2) and CC series printers. Confirm your platform dimensions before installing.
Construction and materials: The sheet combines textured PEI surfaces laminated to a spring steel backing. Both faces feature a textured PEI finish to broaden material compatibility and extend usable life compared with a one-sided sheet. The backing is a high-elasticity alloy spring steel that resists cracking and returns to flatness after bending.
Adhesion and temperature: PEI provides strong part adhesion without additional tapes or adhesives for many filaments. Optimal adhesion is typically achieved when the heated bed is near 60°C, though settings will vary by material. If one textured side becomes damaged, flip to the other side to continue printing.
Removal and user experience: The textured PEI surface combined with the flexible spring steel makes demoulding simple — cool to room temperature and either remove the part or gently flex the plate to release prints. The plate includes reinforced pressure edges to help keep it seated while printing.
Installation: Installation is straightforward — lay the double-sided PEI spring steel plate onto your heated bed and secure per your printer’s usual method. The laminated layers are rated for high temperatures; note that the base is non-magnetic.
Durability and performance: The spring steel construction tolerates repeated bending and high-frequency use without fatigue fractures, maintaining consistent flatness through many prints. Its elasticity helps prevent permanent deformation and supports long-term printing operations.
Pros
- Strong adhesion for many filaments without glue
- Double-sided textured PEI for extended usable life
- Flexible spring steel for easy pop-off removal
Cons
- Thinner and less rigid than some factory plates
- No smooth/glossy side variant included
- May require bed re-level after replacement
VerdictThis double-sided textured PEI sheet bonded to a spring steel backing is a practical replacement for Centauri Carbon/CC printers. It delivers strong first-layer adhesion (around 60°C for many filaments), is reusable if one face wears, and the spring steel lets you flex prints off quickly. It’s thinner than some factory plates, so a bed re-level may be required, and a few users find it a bit less r

Matches the factory plate
Solid plate, mirrors the factory unit closely, just without the printed branding.

Solid replacement for a print farm
Exactly what I required. In a small print farm I damaged the original switching filaments; this replacement handled a large print occupying 80% of the plate and released cleanly after cooling.

Thinner than OEM but functional
Replaced a scratched original with this plate. Prints were variable at first — I mostly run PETG and PLA. One long PLA print (about nine hours) stuck well and finished cleanly. The plate is noticeably thinner, so I re-calibrated the nozzle offset. Arrived quick and got the printer back in service.

Does the job
Performs on par with the factory bed. I’d purchase it again.

A little flimsy but usable
Feels slightly wobbly and not as rigid as the OEM, yet it functions on my Centauri Carbon. It’s more affordable than stock and gets the job done.

Perfect fit and strong adhesion
Fits the Centauri Carbon exactly and performs like the original. Excellent hold for PLA, PLA-CF, PETG, PETG-CF and ABS. Heats up reliably and I’d buy another when needed. Was testing with matte PETG.

Works well for ASA/ABS with adhesive
Fits my magnetic bed perfectly and the surface is consistent. I use a glue stick for ASA/ABS; parts adhere during printing and peel off easily once cooled.

Good fit, missing a smooth side
It installs perfectly on the CC but I had hoped one face would be smooth like the original. Needs some more time on my part to evaluate long-term adhesion and wear.
