What’s in the box: The package contains a brush motor rated 0.17A at 24V, a pneumatic connector for secure tubing attachment, and two PTFE (Teflon) guide tubes measuring 200mm and 230mm in length.
Tube dimensions and placement: The included PTFE tubes have an inner diameter of 2.5 mm and an outer diameter of 4 mm. The 200 mm tube is recommended for the center lanes (lanes 2 and 3) while the 230 mm tube fits the side lanes (lanes 1 and 4). Using tubes with other inner diameters is not advised, as mismatched tubing can cause feeding or retraction problems.
System behavior and role: This accessory works with the other components of the CFS to manage filament transfer during multi-color jobs and automatic refueling cycles. It helps the system pull filament back and feed new lines as the printer sequences between spools.
Installation and use notes: Replacing this module can require removing spools and routing filament through the buffer and extruder path. If the printer is jammed due to a failure here, extracting filament between the CFS, buffer and extruder may be tricky and take patience to clear.

Necessary replacement but a hassle to fit
I gave this a purchase because my printer needed to be back online fast. Support eventually sent a free replacement after much troubleshooting, but I couldn't wait and sourced this kit myself. Swapping it in is fiddly — you often must remove spools and clear filament from the buffer to the extruder. If it fails mid-run, getting everything free again can be a real pain. Still, when it’s required, it’s required.

Poor durability observed
My experience shows these parts seem to be prone to early failure. The design and longevity left me disappointed.

Very short lifespan
This component lasted only about 2.5 months for me. I hope Creality improves their parts quality or alternatives appear.
