5-Pack Bowstring Wax for Compound, Recurve & Crossbows
Product description
This kit contains five individual bowstring wax sticks presented in twist-up tubes similar in size to a lip balm. Each stick combines a resin base with beeswax and white petrolatum to create a pliable, non-toxic compound intended for routine string care.
The formulation is designed to lower friction between fibers and the serving, helping to prevent fraying and extend the working life of strings. It also functions as a rail and bow lube to promote steadier arrow flight and consistent speed.
Because the wax is housed in a small, lightweight tube, you can carry a stick in a pocket, pack or bow case for on-the-go maintenance. To apply, twist the bottom to raise the wax and glide it along the string or rail, then work it into the fibers as needed.
The product is described as water-resistant and nearly odorless, so it resists moisture without producing strong smells that could be distracting. The tubes provide multiple applications, and the five-pack offers spare sticks for storage or sharing.
Suitable for compound bows, recurves, crossbows and associated rails and arrows, this wax is intended for routine upkeep rather than heavy restoration. Regular application helps slow corrosion and wear, reducing how often you need to replace strings.
Pros
- Portable twist-up tubes
- Smooth, low-odor formula
- Protects against moisture and fraying
Cons
- Tube size may be smaller than expected
- Not a cure for severely damaged strings

VerdictIf you need a convenient way to protect and lubricate bowstrings and rails, this five-piece wax set delivers reliable performance. The compact, twist-up tubes are easy to stash in a kit, and the blend of resin, beeswax and petrolatum provides smooth application, moisture resistance, and reduced fraying. Good for regular upkeep and field use.

Smooth application, handy tubes
Much smoother than older waxes I’ve tried; spreads easily. Tubes are lip-balm sized and five are included. Very faint scent.
