Windstorm Personal Safety Whistle — Black
Product description
This listing includes one Windstorm personal safety whistle with a split-ring key attachment and hang-tag packaging. The whistle has a black exterior and measures 2 5/8" from end to end, designed for compact carry on keys, life vests, or packs.
Housing is molded from a tough, high-impact thermoplastic that offers a secure grip and long service life. The unit contains a pea-style mechanism to create a distinctive warbling alarm; it was engineered to produce a very loud output that carries over background noise and wind. Performance is maintained whether the whistle is used in wet or dry conditions—the sound will project above the water surface and remain audible when exposed to spray or immersion.
Manufactured in the United States, this whistle is favored by outdoorspeople, maritime users, sports officials, and search-and-rescue personnel. It’s compact enough for hikers, campers, hunters, and divers, and its robust construction meets demands of active use.

VerdictThe Windstorm whistle is a rugged, pocket-sized alarm that delivers an assertive tone while remaining comfortable to hold and easy to attach to gear. It projects well through crowds and adverse weather, performs when wet or submerged, and meets military adoption standards for practical relia

Reassuring, pocket-sized alarm
Being able to sound a clear alarm when trouble appears has saved people who couldn’t shout or lost their voice. This whistle lets you signal repeatedly without relying on speaking, regardless of weather.

Exactly as advertised
Arrived promptly via USPS. Small but powerful; it can be heard from a long way off. Product videos gave an accurate sense of size, tone, and construction.

Equipped every family member
We purchased one for each family member and liked them so much we bought extras for friends. Handy for camping or hiking—and the small note from the maker was a nice touch.

Sturdy and dependable, with orientation quirks
This Windstorm is loud and full-sounding when held upright so the pea can move properly. Tilt it and the tone becomes thin. I’ve compared several whistles recently — a pea-less model I tried was smaller and could be painfully loud, while this one is more comfortable to blow. I expect I’ll keep a few different designs around.

Properly loud
This thing really screams — perfect for alerting others. I had expected something wind-like based on my search, but it’s definitely a high-volume warning whistle.

Improved redesign
I replaced an older Storm model and worried about the refresh, but this one exceeded my hopes. Easy to blow, loud, and distinct thanks to the pea. Should be standard on life jackets and for backcountry trips.

Workhorse for the flightline
I use this daily on a flightline while towing aircraft. The tone is clean and the shape helps aim the sound at where you’re directing personnel; many coworkers use the same model.
