8-Channel Low-Profile XLR Snake Cable — 50 ft Stage/Studio Splitter
Product description
This kit includes a single 50-foot, 8-channel XLR snake with a low-profile stage box and a set of fantail leads. The stage box features female XLR jacks, while the accompanying fantails terminate in male XLRs. The bundle provides multiple channels in one run to simplify stage wiring.
Each lead and the corresponding jack on the box are printed with matching numbers so you can quickly identify and reconnect individual channels without guesswork. That numbering speeds setup and teardown when working with several microphones or DI sources.
A small circuit board sits at the connector assemblies to ensure a stable soldered connection and to help minimize external electrical noise, yielding clearer signal paths than poorly terminated cables. The terminations are designed to be solid to prevent intermittent contact.
The outer jacket is made from a rugged, flexible material intended for frequent handling. The individual conductors and shielding sizes are optimized for balanced audio so the cable carries mic-level signals reliably across the 50-foot run.
Designed to plug directly into analogue or digital mixing consoles, the snake removes the need for extra converters or adapters in most setups. It’s well suited to studio patching, theatre rigs, houses of worship and small-to-medium live stages where a compact, organized cabling footprint is desired.
Pros
- Numbered channels for fast identification
- Circuit-board terminations reduce external noise
- Durable, flexible outer jacket
Cons
- Box housing is relatively lightweight
- Not engineered for heavy-duty tour use
- May be overkill for very small, single-mic setups
VerdictA practical 8-channel snake for stage and studio use: numbered channels and internal circuit-board terminations improve reliability and reduce interference. The heavy cable jacket and solid XLRs on the tails make it useful for installations and small gigs, while the lightweight box housing means it’s better suited to fixed setups or studio work than heavy touring.

Light-duty use
Too light for touring. Enclosure is thin, though the connectors look serviceable for studio work.

Solid value
Functions as expected; fantail connectors feel sturdy but the box is plastic, so handle it gently.

Impressive quality
Tried it once and liked it. Thick, well-insulated cable with sturdy XLRs on the box. Great as a sub-snake for drum miking and keeps the stage neater than running many individual cables.
