Viper Hardwood Triangle Pool Ball Rack — Oak Finish
Product description
Every frame-up pool game begins with how the balls are arranged. This triangle is built from solid hardwood with reinforced corners to resist warping and keep its shape under repeated use. It’s intended to replace flimsy plastic racks and deliver a tighter, more consistent formation for your opening break.
The triangle is cut to hold regulation 2-1/4" (2.25") billiard balls and provides the usual back clearance so you can place your fingers behind the set to tighten the rack before lifting it away. Dimensions are 11.6" x 11.6" x 1.25", and the unit weighs approximately 0.35 lb, making it easy to handle between frames. The finish is a warm oak tone that pairs well with classic table woodwork.
Construction notes: solid wood body, reinforced corner joints, and a smooth surface finish intended to reduce the chance of ball scratching. Unlike plastic racks that can flex or crack, this wooden triangle is designed to retain its geometry for consistent performance.
What’s included: one hardwood triangle ball rack. The manufacturer provides a 30-day coverage against defects. Use it by placing the rack over a full rack of 2.25" balls, snugging them together with your fingers at the rear, then lifting the triangle straight up for a tight, even break.
Pros
- Solid hardwood construction for durability
- Sized for regulation 2.25" billiard balls for a snug rack
- Reinforced corners help maintain shape over time
Cons
- May show small finish blemishes out of the box
- Not as heavy as some premium wooden racks
- Some units have slightly rough interior edges
VerdictA straightforward upgrade over flexible plastic triangles: this hardwood rack holds regulation 2.25" balls firmly for cleaner, more powerful opening shots. It’s lightweight and easy to position, with reinforced corners for added durability. Expect improved break consistency, though you may notice minor finish imperfections on some units. Overall, a practical accessory for players wanting a more re

Loose in front, rough wood
Gap at the front makes the rack less tight. Some splintering on the wood that could scuff a table.

Does the job
Not heavy, but it performs well and keeps the balls together.

Well made for what it is
I like it overall. Only critique is that the inside corners could be rounded a bit more, otherwise solid.

Wrong size but attractive
Mine was the incorrect size for my set, yet the craftsmanship and appearance are nice.

Reliable wooden rack
Ignored the negative posts and received a clean piece — no splinters or cracking. It’s not the same level as pro-table hardwood, but it replaces my flexible plastic rack and holds the balls tightly. There’s meant to be finger room at the back so you can remove the triangle without disturbing the set. Been racking for years; this is a clear step up from plastic.

Perfect fit
Sized right — slightly larger than the balls so you can tighten with your fingers then lift the rack away without moving the set. Finish isn’t flawless but acceptable for the cost.
