Construction and design: The 210 is a MERV 11 pleated furnace-style filter built with AprilAire’s Self-Seal™ framing to form an airtight interface with the purifier housing. The media is engineered to collect a wide range of household particulates including dust, pollen, mold spores, pet dander and similar allergens. It is manufactured in the USA by AprilAire.
Filtration performance: The MERV 11 rating means the filter captures a very high percentage of larger and many smaller particles; AprilAire reports removals up to about 96% for common dust and pollen and improved capture in the 0.30–1.0 μm range versus some competing media, based on third-party testing following ASHRAE 52.2 (2017) procedures.
Lifespan and efficiency: The 210 is intended for annual replacement under normal household conditions. AprilAire indicates the media family (MERV 11 and MERV 13) can last up to twice as long as some alternatives under test conditions, which reduces replacement frequency and can ease load on the HVAC blower.
Maintenance and support: Change the 210 at least once every 12 months to preserve air cleaner performance. AprilAire pairs this filter with a 10-year Clean-Coil Commitment for qualifying installs of new systems with compliant maintenance, under the manufacturer’s terms. Easy to install

Does the job, note on thickness options
Works fine but not cheap. I discovered there are thicker and thinner AprilAire options that all fit certain housings. Higher-number filters trap more particulates and put more load on the blower; for a new system I’m running the denser media, and as the system ages I plan to switch to the thinner style to reduce strain.
