LEONLITE 12-Pack 20 cu in Single-Gang Old-Work Outlet Boxes
Product description
Designed for retrofitting existing walls, this 12-pack of single-gang old-work outlet boxes is made for adding or replacing electrical devices without major wall demolition. Each box includes four built-in wire holes so you can route conductors from several directions and choose the best entry point for your setup.
Each box offers 20 cubic inches of internal volume to accommodate standard receptacles, switches and larger devices such as GFCIs without excessive wire crowding. A built-in cable clamp secures non-metallic sheathed cable (Romex) to keep conductors stable inside the box after installation.
Safety and code compliance are addressed with an ETL listing; these boxes are listed for use with non-metallic sheathed cable in accordance with Article 314 of the National Electrical Code. The material is an ultra-thick PVC that provides increased rigidity, corrosion resistance and non-conductive performance for safer handling.
Dimensions are compatible with standard devices: 4-3/10-Inch length; 2-8/25-Inch width; 3-9/13-Inch depth. They are sized for typical devices and switches that use 3-1/4” screw spacing. Installation is accomplished by inserting the box into the wall opening and engaging the fold-out drywall ears to clamp the box to the drywall for a secure fit.
Pros
- Generous 20 cu in internal volume
- Thick non-conductive PVC resists corrosion
- Integrated knockouts and cable clamp simplify wiring
Cons
- Only one color option available
- Sold in bulk — may be more than needed for small jobs
- No metal mounting options for specialty installs
VerdictThese single-gang old-work boxes deliver roomy internal capacity and dependable mounting for retrofit wiring. The thick, non-conductive PVC and integrated cable clamp make them durable and safe for standard outlets and switches. They suit most residential remodels where a deep, reliable box is needed and provide consistent performance across multiple installs.

Stout construction and ample room
I used these boxes while adding outlets, occupancy sensors, and GFCI devices in my garage. The extra depth made wiring much easier — I had room for all conductors instead of stuffing them. The drywall ears fold out smoothly and hold the board firmly, and the mounting hardware felt reliable compared with others I’ve tried. The plastic is heavy-duty and the Romex knockouts are straightforward to remove.

Good value in larger quantities
I bought the pack because it made sense for multiple projects. Quality matches that of national-brand old-work boxes and the depth fits a 2x4 wall with 1/2" drywall. The pass-through openings accept Romex without issue.
