iFixit FixHub Smart Soldering Iron — 100W USB-C Portable Kit
Product description
The FixHub Smart Soldering Iron is a portable soldering tool designed for precision electronics work. The kit ships with the iron body, a heat-resistant plastic handle, a protective cap, a silicone-coated USB-C power cable, and a 1.5 mm bevel tip. The removable stainless-steel tip and modular components are intended to be swapped or serviced without complex tools.
Rated at 100 watts and powered via USB-C, the iron reaches operating temperature in seconds and is sized to feel like a full-size iron while remaining easy to hold for fine tasks. A multi-color ring LED on the shaft reports heating, hot, and cooling states. The unit also senses when it’s placed down and triggers an automatic cool-down; lifting it again prompts instant reheating so you can work efficiently and safely.
Construction mixes a metal tip and heat-tolerant plastics for the grip, while the cable is silicone-coated for flexibility and durability. The overall design emphasizes repairability — replaceable tips and serviceable internals help extend the tool’s working life for repeated use in workshops and field settings.

Doesn't hit the advertised 100W
In my tests it never reached 100 W — closer to 50–60 W. It still works as a portable iron, but any good USB-C iron plus a proper cable and power bank can provide similar results.

Rugged in the field
My workplace bought one first and I put it through heavy use: underground jobs and high-elevation repairs. Carried in a belt pouch, it performed reliably. I later got one for home as well.

Great for hobby projects
Not a pro-level tool for me, but excellent for home work. Feels solid and reaches operating temps fast. I printed a holder that doubles as a stand.
