HBN 15A Mini WiFi Smart Plug — 4‑Pack Outlet Adapter
Product description
What’s included: a set of four HBN mini WiFi smart plugs (4‑pack), USB‑free outlet-style adapters rated for 15 amps each, and a quick start leaflet.
Build and dimensions: each plug is a compact, space-saving plastic housing designed to avoid blocking adjacent sockets. The unit is described as a “mini” form factor and fits standard wall outlets while supporting heavier loads up to 15A. Materials are flame-retardant ABS-style plastic with internal electrical components rated to meet safety testing.
Connectivity and operation: these outlets connect directly to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network — no separate hub required — and are ETL‑certified. Install by downloading the companion app (commonly Smart Life or the manufacturer’s app), follow the on-screen pairing steps or use AP mode if needed, then add voice control through Alexa or Google Assistant. The app provides timers, countdowns, scheduling, scenes for group control, and account sharing so multiple household members can control devices.
Usage: plug in lamps, fans, humidifiers, seasonal lights and other small appliances. Use schedule and countdown timers to automate on/off cycles, create scenes to operate multiple plugs at once, or control devices remotely while away from home. The plugs also support cloud-based status reporting so you can check whether a device is on from outside your network.

- 15A rating for heavier appliances
- Works with Smart Life and voice assistants
Cons
- Requires 2.4 GHz WiFi only

VerdictThese compact 15A smart plugs provide straightforward remote control, voice operation and scheduling for lamps and small appliances. They’re convenient for automating lights and decorations and can be grouped or shared with family accounts. Setup can be finicky on some routers and the native app is hit-or-miss for a few users, but compatibility with the Smart Life ecosystem and direct AP pairing m

Good value but Alexa setup needs patience
They work well overall. Linking to Alexa was a little tricky at first; just follow the steps carefully and take your time and it will connect.

Manual not very clear
The instruction leaflet doesn’t explain the sync process well, making setup a bit of a struggle.

Straightforward setup and handy dual outlets
Easy to connect to WiFi and the app is intuitive. I enjoy controlling lights and setting timers from my phone. The compact design and the ability to use two outlets without interference are nice bonuses.

Very easy to use and reliable for appliances
Setup was quick—plug in, connect through the app, and they were ready. Response is fast, schedules work, and the 15A capacity handles heavier devices. Solid, dependable performance.

Tricky to get the sync light blinking
Setup was confusing trying to get the blue LED to flash for pairing; the timing was the hardest part.

Connected after using the alternate method
Initial network pairing failed, but the direct connection option worked perfectly. Everything is visible in the same app and I plan to add more units.

Inconsistent performance for larger setups
I ordered multiple two‑outlet and single‑outlet models hoping to control many decorations and window candles. As an experienced IT pro I found the behavior unreliable and returned the items. Cloud monitoring was important to me and the instability was the deal breaker.

Difficult to pair on iPhone, AP mode solved it
I spent hours trying to connect via the HBN app on my phone. Using the Smart Life app on an iPad and switching to AP mode allowed successful pairing; the iPhone then recognized the devices. Integration with Alexa was simple after that. Not ideal for non‑technical users.

Works well after switching to Smart Life app
Device performs fine, but I deleted the factory app and linked the plugs with Smart Life instead. The printed instructions were unclear and pairing took several attempts. Alexa first complained about the app, but once I connected via Smart Life the devices linked to voice control automatically and everything worked smoothly.

Perfect for holiday lights once 2.4GHz enabled
Great for my Christmas decorations — I can turn lights off from my phone. Pairing was difficult because my router defaulted to 5GHz. After enabling the 2.4GHz band and restarting the router the plug paired using the Smart Life app and worked reliably.

Good devices; reconfiguration is a pain
Functionality and app flexibility are solid; I bought eight units. They work well on 2.4GHz, but if you change routers you must remove and re-add each plug. That behavior is frustrating when migrating to a new network.
