AIR1800 Air Serger with Jet-Air Threading
Product description
The AIR1800 is a jet-air serger built to simplify looper threading and streamline finishing operations. The system includes the main serger unit with built-in air tubing to each looper port, a one-touch needle threader for left or right needle positions, a built-in thread cutter, color-coded thread guides, and an LED-lit work area. An optional large extension table with onboard storage is available for larger projects.
Construction combines a sturdy metal frame with durable molded housing and precision internal components to support up to 1,300 stitches per minute. The machine operates on 120 volts (intended for use in the US) and incorporates an error LED to indicate open fabric cover or a raised presser foot, quick-change levers for rolled hems, and a switch to engage or disengage the cutting knife.
On the stitch side, the AIR1800 offers flatlock, overlock, and rolled hem capabilities and can use two, three, or four threads with one or two needles. Color-coded guides and tubes route thread to the loopers so a press of the air button pulls thread cleanly through the looper channels; needles are threaded via the easy needle threader, and excess thread is trimmed with the integrated cutter.
For tricky textiles, the Differential Feed Ratio ranging from 0.7 mm to 2.0 mm helps control fabric feed for smooth seams and lettuce-edge effects on delicate knits and stretchy materials. The Adjustable Stitch feature lets you modify stitch width and length for project-specific requirements. Noise is moderate during operation, and the bright LED lighting improves visibility when working with dark fabrics. Overall, the AIR1800 is intended for both finishing and construction tasks, delivering clean edges and professional-looking decorative stitches.

VerdictA feature-rich serger that speeds up threading and provides professional seam finishes on challenging fabrics. The air-threading, adjustable stitching, and strong illumination make it easy to adopt, though occasional service needs are possible.

Loopy threading fixed!
This machine finally tamed the tricky lower looper for me. Threading is so much simpler and adjusting tensions is straightforward. I retired my old serger and passed it along to someone who appreciated it.

Solidly built and simple to use
Thread changes are fast, so I use it far more. It feels well constructed and heavier than many modern units. It runs smoothly and I plan to add the thread catcher accessory.

Good performance but some durability worries
Setup was quick and initial stitching was excellent; hems and edges came out great. After several months of light use the presser foot lever stuck and needed warranty repair. Also, a trim tray mentioned in the manual was hard to source through dealers.
