Seam Allowance Ruler with Magnetic Guide for Sewing Machines
Product description
What’s included: one clear plastic seam allowance ruler and a single magnetic seam guide.
Materials and size: the ruler is made from transparent plastic and measures approximately 2 x 2 inches. It includes perforated holes along its length and side graduations for measuring. The magnetic guide is a coated magnet designed to sit against the ruler and hold a fabric edge steady while stitching.
Measurements and markings: the plate is marked with seam allowances ranging from 1/8" to 2" (1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 1", 1-1/8", 1-1/4", 1-3/8", 1-1/2", 1-5/8", 1-3/4", 1-7/8", 2"). It also features 15°, 30° and 45° lines for trimming triangles and a 1/4" pivot point for marking binding corners. Side rulers allow measuring other small items.
How to use: slip the clear plate beneath the presser foot and align the chosen hole with the needle position. Lower the needle and foot to hold the plate steady, then place the magnetic guide against the ruler at the desired allowance and lift the plate away. Use the magnet as a fence and feed fabric along its edge to stitch an even seam. The perforations let you register the needle for temporary marks and repeated pieces.
Compatibility: designed to work with most popular quilting and sewing machines, including Janome, Brother, Singer, Husqvarna Viking, Kenmore, Babylock and similar models. The magnet is intended to attach quickly to metal throat plates or nearby metal surfaces.

Useful but accuracy concerns
Convenient ruler, though I worry the large holes could affect exact seam measurements on quilts.

Quick and accurate setup
This little tool speeds up aligning seams. Far easier than measuring from the needle with a tape measure.

Disappointed with fit
The magnet feels very strong and I worry about marring metal surfaces. The hole sizes also make me question needle alignment. Plastic and magnet quality are fine, though.
