Odorcide Thornell K.O.E. Kennel Odor Eliminator Concentrate — Kennel Odor Control
Product description
Trusted by professionals: Thornell supplies odor control solutions to veterinary clinics, boarding facilities, and grooming operations across North America. The K.O.E. Kennel Odor Eliminator is sold as a concentrated liquid intended for dilution prior to application.
Where to use: Formulated for cages, runs, kennels, floors, tables, walls and other sizable areas where pet odors accumulate. It’s meant to reach the odor source rather than temporarily masking surface smells.
How it works and how to use it: This is a non-enzymatic concentrate. For one-time odor removal dilute 4–8 ounces of concentrate per gallon of water or cleaning solution. For routine maintenance dilute 1/4–1/2 ounce per gallon. Saturate the targeted area thoroughly so the solution can penetrate to the source; allow the treated area to air dry. It can be applied with a pump-up sprayer or standard cleaning equipment. If the odor remains, reapplication with heavier saturation or a stronger dilution is recommended because the product must contact the full source to be fully effective.
Safety and composition: The formula is non-enzymatic, non-toxic, non-allergenic and biodegradable. It is safe to use around small pets and children once the treated area has dried, and is compatible with a variety of surfaces when used as directed.
Pros
- Penetrates to the odor source
- Non-enzymatic and biodegradable
- Works for both remediation and maintenance
Cons
- Requires correct dilution and thorough saturation
- May need repeat application for deeply embedded odors
- Concentrate requires handling and measuring
VerdictA clinical-grade odor eliminator aimed at treating deep-set pet smells rather than covering them. The non-enzymatic formula is effective on a wide range of surfaces and is versatile enough for both one-time remediation and ongoing maintenance. Correct dilution and thorough saturation are essential for full removal; when applied properly it neutralizes odors where they originate. It’s favored by an

Surprised how well it worked in my apartment
I assumed it wouldn’t help but it did. I had a persistent urine smell in the entryway of my new apartment that others didn’t detect strongly. I misted the laminate area, let it dry, then mopped — repeated the next day — and the odor diminished dramatically. It handled what I thought was hopeless.

A little concentrate goes a long way
This kennel concentrate is fantastic for household pet odors. The scent is clean without being overwhelming and a small quantity lasts through many treatments. My home feels noticeably fresher since I started using it.

Effective and long-lasting scent
I hesitated at first because it seemed costly, but a little goes a long way. The apricot scent we chose keeps the house smelling fresh even with multiple rescue dogs and cats. It lasts through several cleanings, so for our household it’s worth buying again. My spouse noticed the difference immediately.

Eliminates urine odor — not just a cover-up
This product actually removes the smell rather than masking it. My little Chihuahua marks everywhere and nothing else worked; this eliminated the odor on floors, furniture and carpets. I’ve tried other lines from the brand and keep returning to this one. I also use it with my wet vacuum/mop system and it performs great.

Very effective
I’ve used it for two weeks and spray it on the floors before cleaning. The house no longer smells like urine. I tried many methods before and this is the most effective. It reminds me of laundry soap.

Professional-grade results for kennels
I first encountered this at my kennel job and was struck by how well it controlled odors. A small amount stretches far, and it leaves a clean scent. It works so well in a boarding environment that I'm switching to it for my mobile grooming business. Highly recommended for anyone caring for many animals.

Saved my favorite rug after everything else failed
My dog kept soiling a treasured rug. I tried store products, enzyme cleaners and even rented extractor tools, but the smell lingered. After pressure washing and thinking it was gone, my dog re-soiled it and I was ready to toss the rug. I used this concentrate heavy, let it soak in, and repeated once — the odor finally disappeared. It revived the rug and saved me from throwing it out. Extremely relieved and impressed with how it reached the source rather than just covering the scent.

Strong on general and dog urine odors
I’ve used the apricot variety twice and will keep buying it. It excels at removing lingering smells, repeated pet spots, and dog urine across hardwood, furniture and litter areas. Cat urine is tougher and I’d rate it slightly lower for that specific problem, though it still helps. I dilute some for regular touch-ups and it keeps most areas smelling fresh.

Truly removes the smell
It’s on the pricier side but worth it — I tried several products that didn’t fully remove the odor. This one got rid of it completely, and it lasts because you only need a small amount.

Amazing for homes with multiple dogs
This cleaner is fantastic with a pleasant fragrance. The bottle is small but concentrated, so you don’t need much. With five large dogs, my house no longer smells like animals. After mopping, even outdoor areas smelled fresher. I’d recommend it to other pet owners.

I read the feedback before buying and decided to try it. It truly removed my dog’s urine odor when other DIY methods failed. I’ll purchase it again.
