This package centers on three 2-inch eyepieces with focal lengths of 40mm, 32mm and 26mm. Because they use a 2" barrel these eyepieces offer a noticeably wider apparent field of view than similarly specced 1.25" oculars, making them well suited for broad Moon scenes and brighter deep-sky sweeps.

Each eyepiece includes generous eye relief and a fold-down rubber eyeguard that cushions the observer’s eye and accommodates eyeglass wearers. The soft eyecup also protects lenses from accidental knocks during use.

A 2" 2x ED Barlow is included to double the effective focal length of the telescope and thus double the magnification of each eyepiece. The Barlow features a reducing adapter so standard 1.25" eyepieces can be used with it as well, giving additional flexibility when selecting magnifications.

The 2" star diagonal has a 2" barrel for comfortable viewing on refractors and a threaded SCT adapter so it can attach to Schmidt-Cassegrain or ACF designs that accept SCT threads. This diagonal changes the viewing angle to a more ergonomic position for eyepiece use.

Five color filters are supplied to bring out planetary features and lunar detail: #58A (green), #12 (yellow), #21 (orange), #25 (red) and #80A (blue). When used selectively, these filters can increase contrast on features such as Jupiter’s belts or Martian polar regions.

All components ship in a padded aluminum carry case with molded slots sized for both 2" and 1.25" eyepieces. The case keeps the eyepieces, Barlow, diagonal and filters protected and organized for travel and storage.

Handy starter collection, minor flaws

Lovely starter set — I enjoy the views from the eyepieces. The diagonal is usable but not as refined as my higher-end unit, so I'll keep it as a spare. The fold-down eyecups are quite thin and feel a little flimsy, but they work.

Solid case, mixed performance

Eyepieces perform well for beginners. The Barlow is on the weaker side and the 90° mirror/diagonal is just average. The case is excellent and makes this a good starter pack.
